An Enterprise Architecture Planning for Tour and Travel Company Using TOGAF ADM

Purpose: This study aims to address inefficiencies in service delivery processes within PT. Auva Eqtena Tour and Travel, particularly concerning manual operations and administrative document management. By utilizing the TOGAF ADM (The Open Group Architecture Framework Architecture Development Method) methodology, the research seeks to develop a strategic plan for information systems that enhances service efficiency and streamlines operations.
  
 Methods: The research employs the TOGAF ADM methodology to guide the strategic planning process for information systems improvement. Four key aspects are considered: vision architecture, business architecture, information system architecture, and technology architecture. Through a systematic approach, the study identifies areas for improvement and proposes strategic initiatives to optimize the utilization of information systems and technology.
  
 Results and Discussion: Analysis of the current operational processes within PT. Auva Eqtena Tour and Travel reveals inefficiencies in manual operations and document management, leading to delays and increased resource consumption. The application of TOGAF ADM methodology facilitates the development of strategic plans across various architectural domains. The proposed initiatives include enhancements in vision architecture, business processes, information system integration, and technological infrastructure to optimize information system utilization and improve service delivery efficiency.
  
 Implications of the Research: The findings have significant implications for PT. Auva Eqtena Tour and Travel, providing actionable insights for enhancing service efficiency and operational effectiveness through strategic information systems planning. By aligning business objectives with technology capabilities, the proposed initiatives aim to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  
 Originality/Value: This study contributes to the existing literature by applying the TOGAF ADM methodology to address operational challenges within the tour and travel industry. By integrating strategic planning principles with architectural frameworks, the research offers a structured approach to information systems development and optimization. The proposed strategic plan provides a roadmap for PT. Auva Eqtena Tour and Travel to leverage information systems effectively, thereby enhancing its competitive position and service delivery capabilities in the market.

Strategic Information System Planning at UMKM in Padalarang Village using Ward and Peppard Methods

Currently, the advancement of information systems and technology offers numerous advantages to human existence, encompassing nearly every aspect of life, including strategic planning. Good strategic planning implementation will benefit the organizations that use it as well as commercial entities like small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM). In Padalarang Village, the industry that can employ the greatest number of specialized workers is UMKM. There is no questioning UMKM's existence because it has demonstrated its ability to endure, act as a catalyst for the local economy, and grow it.  One of the communities in the Padalarangs Prefecture is Padalarang Village. West Java's West Bandung district has potential in the UMKM field, and the strategy's village layout supports this idea. The purpose of the research was to develop an information system strategy for Padalarang Village's UMKM, with the goal of motivating UMKM to enhance benefits through the use of information systems. The Ward and Peppard methods were employed, with phases for SWOT, Value Chain, and Five Force analysis. Interviews and questionnaires were sent to pertinent parties throughout the data collecting phase. The study's conclusion is that UMKM needs to be proficient in the use of information technology in order to become an innovation to develop its business.

The Strategic Innovation System: Flows of Innovation from Digital Platforms to Digital Services

ABSTRACT Innovations in digital platforms have led to strategic innovations of digital services which are exchanged between digital organizations and their customers. There are significant flows, not only of information, but also of innovation from digital platforms to services through a strategic innovation system. But how and why the flows shape the system are under-explained in the literature. This paper explores these innovation flows in two Ghanaian small-medium enterprises. It aims to explain the flows in order to contribute knowledge of a strategic innovation system which extends previous knowledge of strategic information systems. The explanation is that the stragic innovation system is shaped by innovation flows because of three types of adaptabilities: cognition, software production, and service provision. These adaptabilities are moderated respectively by leading and mutual learning, technologizing and liberating, and customer learning and relating. The theoretical contributions espoused by this explanation are discussed with their research and practical implications.

Control Mechanisms and Senior Management Commitment in Shaping the Performance of Strategic Information Systems Projects: A Resource Dependence Perspective

Successfully controlling strategic information systems (IS) projects in realizing strategic goals is a primary concern for managers. However, the effectiveness of control may vary with the organizational resources, such as senior management commitment. Using a theoretical lens of resource dependence, this article investigates the mechanism of how senior management commitment, a critical organizational resource, changes the influences of four types of control on the performance of strategic IS projects. Based on a pairwise survey on user liaisons and project managers from 155 strategic IS projects, we discover that behavior control and self-control are effective in improving strategic performance contrary to outcome and clan control. However, such effects are differentially changed by senior management commitment, which increases the effectiveness of outcome and clan control but weakens that of self-control. Thus, senior management commitment has dual roles toward strategic performance in either facilitating or deteriorating control effectiveness. Our findings contribute to control-based theory, resource dependence theory, strategic IS project, and management commitment literature by identifying the interactive effect of senior management commitment and control. Our findings also provide practical insights into how managers substantially control and support strategic IS projects.

Do Information Systems Today Play a Strategic Role in Business?

An information system is a combination of software, hardware, and telecommunication networks to collect useful data, especially in an organisation. Many businesses use information technology to complete and manage their operations, interact with their consumers, and stay ahead of their competition. The purpose of this study is to analyze and investigate the strategic role of information systems in modern enterprises. We analyzes the components of information systems and their overall functions, as well as the importance of keeping the information system and organizational strategy aligned. By analyzing the influence of digital connection on enterprises, this paper expounds the adoption of information system in enterprises. We analyze the reasons why information systems have a significant impact on organizational operations, and the goals of an enterprise's adoption of information systems. The relationship between proper information system and improving the efficiency of company operation is analyzed. In business operation, small and medium-sized enterprises regard information system as a priority, and the impact of strategic information system on enterprises. From the above, we conclude the value of information systems in contemporary enterprises, increasing productivity, reducing resource use, and making data collection more efficient.

Membedah Aplikasi SISNU bagi Manajemen Organisasi NU

The Nahdlatul Ulama Strategic Information System or SISNU digital application is an innovative product among NU organizations in Central Java. This article aims to take a more in-depth look at what and how SISNU is and at the same time analyze its benefits for the NU organization itself. This research tries to use a content analysis approach to the SISNU application, and then compiles the results using a narrative descriptive model. The conclusion of this research is that SISNU is relatively easy to operate and has strategic benefits for local NU organizations. That innovation in creating digital application regarding organizational information system can facilitate the work of organizational management itself.
  

HIV case reporting and HIV treatment outcomes in Qatar.

The aim of the paper is to provide an overview of available HIV case reporting and treatment data for in Qatar for the period 2015-2020. HIV case reporting data were analyzed by sex and mode of transmission. To construct HIV care continuum from the data available, we obtained information on the total number of HIV diagnosed patients on antiretroviral treatment (ART) between January 1st 2015 and December 31st 2020, number of patients on ART who had an HIV viral load test and the number who were virally suppressed (defined as having the viral load of less than 1,000 copies/mL). A total of 515 HIV cases were reported to the Ministry of Public Health since beginning of reporting in 1986, and that included Qatari nationals and expatriate residents diagnosed in Qatar. There was an increase in the annual number of newly reported HIV cases from 16 cases in 2015 (of these, 14 were males) to 58 cases in 2020 (of these, 54 were males). The total number of HIV diagnosed people on ART increased from 99 in 2015 to 213 in 2020. During 2020 the overall viral load testing coverage and viral load suppression among those tested for viral load in men were 72.5% and 93.1%, respectively, while in women these values were 60.4% and 84.4%, respectively. Due to increase in newly reported HIV cases, there is a need to develop an effective HIV strategic information system in Qatar and data-driven and targeted national HIV response.

EcoServe: A Strategic Information System with Trends Forecasting for Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail

Ecotourism studies are essential to promote sustainable travel and responsible environmental practices, which are vital for preserving our planet's biodiversity and natural habitats while providing enriching experiences for travelers. Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail, located in Negros Occidental, provides an ideal backdrop for this kind of study. Despite its natural beauty and recreational potential, the resort grapples with outdated, manual reservation systems, inefficient communication, and the absence of a strategic forecasting tool. Considering these issues, this research aims to introduce EcoServe, a Strategic Information System with Trends Forecasting, as a groundbreaking approach to enhancing customer reservations, boosting communication, and providing crucial trend forecasting for Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail. This web-based and mobile-friendly system automates reservation management, enhances communication with customers through an electronic bulletin, and provides trend forecasting. The study utilized the Development Research Design and Rapid Application Development Method (RAD) to develop the system, followed by comprehensive Black and White Box testing to ensure usability and overall quality. The results demonstrate the system's value in improving efficiency and customer satisfaction while supporting strategic planning for sustainable business practices in the tourism sector.

Strategic Information System Planning at RSUD Berkah Pandeglang Using the EAP (Enterprise Architecture Planning) Method

The intense competition in business development requires enterprises to innovate to assist in their business processes. One way to achieve success in innovation is by planning information systems and information technology that can meet business needs and align with current developments, using the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) method. The results of the strategic information system planning include data architecture, application architecture, and network architecture. This research has produced a strategic planning document that can be used by RSUD BERKAH PANDEGLANG. This document contains data architecture, application architecture, and technology architecture.

Strategic information planning and performance of SMEs: A structural equation modelling approach

BACKGROUND: The business environment is getting unstable due to which execution of decision support systems has become significant to maintain competitive advantage. Small and medium enterprises in particular confront issues, such as insufficiency of devising strategic planning, strategic decision-making, and information exchange, as well as difficulty increasing performance. Because functional strategic management and decision-making are required, strategic information systems planning is employed to accumulate information and assist decision-makers in developing and implementing the best strategy for gaining superior performance. Executives in information systems focus on technical difficulties while ignoring decisions to support strategic plans. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this article is to investigate how strategic information systems planning contributes to increased performance in SMEs. METHODS: Data was gathered through questionnaires distributed to information system executives in SMEs, primarily in Jordan. The data was collected with the help of questionnaires adopted from prior studies. For Analysis after applying the diagnostic tests, structural equation modelling has been applied to test the framework developed based on the literature. RESULTS: A structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted, the individual loadings of the SEM items are investigated, reliability and discriminant validity is tested, and path coefficients of hypothesized relationships of the developed model are tested. CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggested that managers should prioritize implementing strategic information systems planning so that they can gain superior performance with better agility in the future. This research not only enhances the current understanding of the significance of strategic information systems planning but also assists supervisors to improve the procedure.

Strategic Information Systems (SIS) implementation at a bank in an emerging economy: implications for strategic enterprise capabilities and societal development

ABSTRACT Strategic Information Systems (SIS) enable enterprise capability including competitive advantage and optimal performance. Attaining these strategic benefits is generally challenging for organizations and more difficult for entities in emerging economies. Void of these strategic benefits, the vast Information Systems and Technology (IS/IT) investments at organizations remain suboptimal. We seek to understand how financial institutions in emerging economies use SIS to transform their IT investments into enterprise capability. We use the IS capability model to study an Ethiopian bank’s SIS implementation. The case study bank has 80 years of service and 30 million customers. We conducted qualitative structured interviews with the bank’s executives, validated with industry experts, and performed a structural assessment. Our findings confirm matured business and technical talents but reveal concerns about the maturity of Organizing and Enterprise Level elements. We conclude with recommendations for research and practice.

Design Of Strategic Information System Blueprint With Enterprise Architecture Planning Method

The rapid and dynamic development of information technology in today's digital era has a significant impact on organizations in managing information and data. This also applies to universities that need to optimize data and information management in order to improve service quality and organizational performance. Therefore, it is necessary to design an appropriate and integrated strategic information system, which is able to support the decision-making process effectively and efficiently, as well as integrate various functions and processes in various organizational units on campus.  Enterprise is a set of organizations that have several general goals / principles and / or a baseline. Higher education is one of the enterprises engaged in education. The increasing need for data and information in business functions carried out by a university is one of the drivers of the use of information systems in universities. Therefore, in this study will be designed on 3 (three) architectural models, namely data architecture, architecture, applications and technology architectures using the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) method. 

Antecedent Strategic Alignment and Its Effect on Business Resilience

The Covid-19 pandemic, which has been around for about 2 years, has impacted all sectors, especially the economic and industrial sectors. For SMEs, the Covid-19 pandemic is a challenge for cost and financial disruptions, activity disruptions, and existence difficulties. Many companies and SMEs have experienced bankruptcy and were unable to survive amid the Covid- 19 pandemic outbreak. Therefore, this research was established to propose antecedent strategic alignment that can build business resilience. In this study, the unit of analysis is SMEs in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The sample in this study was 94 SMEs. The analysis outcome of this study indicates that communication between business management and information technology management, strategic information system planning, information technology infrastructure flexibility, and environmental uncertainty have an effect and can become an antecedent of strategic alignment and in the end, strategic alignment has an effect on business resilience in a positive and significant way. The findings are interesting because it turns out that during the Covid-19 pandemic, strategic alignment can be a predictor of business resilience. Where business resilience has the nature of proactive anticipation before turbulence, adaptive when turbulence occurs, and reactive after turbulence occurs. And this is also the novelty of this research.

Strategic Information System and Contingency Planning is Necessary for The Rapid Growth of Any Organization

Strategic information system planning (SISP) has been identified as a critical management issue. It is considered by many as the best mechanism for assuring that IT activities are congruent with those of the rest of the organization and its evolving needs. Our research investigated the success of SISP as a function of its key success factors (KSFs) in different contexts and SISP approaches, in a framework that integrated all of the SISP components and provided a new perspective on how the constructs are instrumental to produce SISP success. Based on responses from 172 American CIOs, our study’s findings empirically supported our research model: the combination of SISP context and approach was found to have a moderating influence on the basic relationship between SISP KSFs and its success, the best predictor for the long-term success of the SISP process was apparently based on the three-way interactions between SISP’s KSFs, its approach and its context. In addition, specific combinations of SISP approach and SISP context were found to decrease or increase the size of the ‘‘planning paradox’’ (the inconsistency in the behavior of the ‘‘basic relationship’’ between the three).

THE STRATEGIC INFORMATION SYSTEM, KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITION, AND EMPOWERMENT ON ORGANIZATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN ORANGE TELECOMMUNICATION FIRM

This study examined the effects of strategic information system, knowledge acquisition, and empowerment on organizational entrepreneurship within the Orange Telecoms Company. Primarily, this study aimed to build a conceptual framework for examining the most significant factors that may influence the deployment of a strategic information system, knowledge acquisition, and empowerment in an Orange Telecoms Company. Studies that explored the relationship between strategic information system, knowledge acquisition, and empowerment, and organizational entrepreneurship were taken from the literature. The suggested research model for additional testing is illustrated. This study highlighted the significance of strategic information system, encompassing system quality, information quality, individual impact, and organizational impact. The effect of knowledge acquisition was determined, which includes internalization and externalization processes. The research provides further information about empowerment, including environmental performance, collaboration with externals, and better adaption with business changes. Previous dimensions reflect the primary dimensions against which this study assessed the effects of fostering entrepreneurship inside the business.

Information System Strategic Planning DPMPTSP Riau Province using Ward and Peppard Method

Appropriate application of information systems and information technology can increase efficiency and effectiveness and create a competitive advantage. Dinas Penanaman Modal dan Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu (DPMPTSP) Riau Province is one of the agencies for providing integrated licensing services spread throughout the Provinces and Regencies/Cities in Indonesia. DPMPTSP is required to carry out the task of licensing services that are fast, accurate, in accordance with existing regulations and transparent costs to the entire community. Thus, it is necessary to design a strategic information system so that the implementation of IS/IT is in line with the vision and mission as well as the company's goals. This research uses the Ward and Peppard method because the method has a fairly clear and complete framework besides that it does not only focus on technology, but also focuses on the business needs of the organization. The result of this research are recommendations for future portfolio applications that can be used within the next four years.

The Effect of Strategic Information Systems Planning Process on Strategic Alignment: The Moderator Role of Environmental Hostility

The strategic information systems planningprocess (SISP) has become increasingly important for public organizations to achieve strategic alignment, SISP is overwhelmedwith problems that hinder organizations from reaping its benefits of it. Environmental hostility is the most prominent. Therefore, this research investigates the influence of environmental hostilityas a moderator variable in the relationship between the strategic information systems planning process (assessed SISP in terms of strategic awareness, situation analysis, strategy conception, strategy formulation, and strategy implementation planning phases) and strategic alignment in public originations in Thi-Qar province. The survey questionnaire was designed based on a comprehensive literature review. A panel of both academic scholars was used to review the questionnaire items. Based on responses from 61 public organizations, our empirical investigation provided the following results, eight out of ten hypotheses tested were supported. To analyze the data, partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used. The findings of the research demonstrate that strategic awareness, situation analysis, and strategy conception strongly effects strategic alignment, and environmental hostility as a moderator variable influences the relationship between these processes and strategic alignment. The implications and recommendationsof this study are also discussed.
